Critical Assembly Note: You must heavily pack the internal cavity between the primary oil lip and the outer dirt excluder with a high-quality, water-resistant marine or agricultural lithium-complex grease prior to assembly.

This grease packing is not optional. It provides vital boundary lubrication to prevent the massive outer dirt excluder lips from burning up due to dry friction during initial machine transport, while also establishing an additional hydrostatic barrier against water ingress.

Furthermore, because the outer case is bare steel, technicians should apply a thin layer of non-hardening, anaerobic flange sealant to the 52mm outer diameter before pressing the seal perfectly square into the housing. This completely fills any microscopic machining scratches in the axle trumpet, eliminating the risk of slow capillary gear oil weeping.
