In demanding pump applications, standard Nitrile (NBR) elastomers rapidly degrade when exposed to high-temperature coolants, synthetic lubricants, or corrosive chemical mixtures. Our heavy-duty sealing rings are manufactured from a premium Brown Fluoroelastomer (FKM/Viton). This advanced polymer matrix offers exceptional thermal stability and near-universal chemical resistance. The addition of the embedded fabric mesh serves to reinforce the FKM, drastically improving its tear strength and resistance to “cold flow.” This composite material selection ensures that the seal will not harden, swell, or brittle when subjected to aggressive aqueous solutions, prolonged heat, or high-speed rotary friction.

From a maintenance engineering perspective, the 12x20x5mm fabric-reinforced seal is designed to extend the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of critical pumping equipment. The rigid fabric outer diameter provides an excellent, stable interference fit within the pump housing, often eliminating the need for supplementary chemical retaining compounds. To maximize the low-friction lifespan of the FKM lip, it is crucial to ensure the mating shaft is free of burrs and polished to a surface finish of 0.2 to 0.4 μm Ra. During assembly, technicians must pre-lubricate the dynamic lip with a compatible high-temperature grease or the system fluid to prevent dry-running wear during the critical initial startup phase of the water pump.
