While standard NBR seals often suffer from “extrusion” or high friction under load, our Glyd Rings utilize a specialized PTFE + Bronze composite. The addition of bronze particles enhances the thermal conductivity of the seal and increases its compressive strength, preventing the seal from migrating into the clearance gap under high pressure. This material selection allows the seal to operate across a wide temperature spectrum (-30°C to +110°C) and remain chemically compatible with nearly all mineral-based hydraulic oils and flame-retardant fluids.

One of the primary operational advantages of the Glyd Ring is its “space-saving” design, which allows engineers to design smaller, more efficient cylinders. For maintenance teams, the $6.3$mm cross-section is designed for easy snap-in installation into closed grooves (though heating the PTFE ring in oil to 80°C to 100°C is recommended for easier stretching). Unlike U-cup seals, the Glyd Ring provides superior guiding support and prevents metal-to-metal contact between the piston and the bore, drastically extending the service life of the cylinder’s internal surfaces.
