When utilizing this 20x28x5.7mm seal in a pump rebuild, technicians must ensure the mating shaft or ceramic sleeve is perfectly polished to a surface finish of 0.2 to 0.4 μm Ra. Any microscopic grooving or abrasive oxidation will act as a file, rapidly shredding the new FKM lip. Furthermore, it is critical to pre-lubricate the V-cup’s dynamic lip with a compatible high-temperature assembly grease prior to seating the pump head.
